The 2003 AIPPI -Korea Annual Meeting
was held on
February 19, 2003.
The 2003 AIPPI-Korea Annual Meeting
was held at Samjung Hotel from 11:30 to 14:00
on Wednesday, February 19th , 2003. Approximately
50 members participated.
At the Meeting, two scientific lectures were
presented. One was presented by Professor Moon
Hwan Kim of Kook Min University under the topic
of " Law and Electronic Business ".
It was followed by Dr. Dae In Kim of Good Law.
He spoke about " Intellectual Property Rights
and Brilliance of the Traditional Culture."
The annual meeting was followed after the lectures.
The meeting agenda include 2002 Business Report,
2002 Audit Report, Business Plan for 2003, Budget
for 2003, Report of the 2003 AIPPI Seoul EXCO/FORUM
Organizing Committee, Report of AIPPI-Korea Program
Committee, Interim Report for 2012 AIPPI Seoul
Congress.

The Board Meeting of AIPPI -Korea
was held on February 7, 2003.
The Board Meeting of the AIPPI-Korea was held
on February 7, 2003 at Samjung Hotel. Fifteen
board members participated and the members discussed
about the important and various issues including
the forthcoming 2003 AIPPI EXCO/ FORUM, which
is to be held in October at COEX Convention Center,
Seoul. The names of the board members who participated
at the meeting are as follows:
Mr. Yoon Bae KIM, Mr. Ea Roo KANG, Mr. Seong Taik
KIM, Mr. Yang Oh KIM, Mr. Man Ho SONG, Mr. Kwan
Ho SHINN, Mr. Young Phil LEE, Mr. Young Pyo HONG,
Mr. Jae Ryun SONG, Ms. Young KIM, Mr. Seung Young
MOON, Ms. In Sil LEE, Mr. Yoon CHAE, Mr. Kyung
Han SOHN, Mr. Duk Yeul BAEK.
Nine Members will represent the Korean
National Group of AIPPI at the 2003 AIPPI EXCO
Meeting from Oct. 12-15, 2003.
At the 2003 AIPPI EXCO Meeting, which will be
held at Grand Intercontinental Hotel, Seoul from
October 12 to 15, 2003, the following nine members
including the President of the AIPPI-Korea will
join as the delegate of the Korean National Group
of the AIPPI. The names of the nine members who
will represent the Korean National Group of the
AIPPI are as follows:
Mr. Yoon -Bae KIM (President), Mr. Jang-Won PARK
(V.P.), Mr. Seong-Taik KIM (V.P.), Mr. Kwan-Ho
SHINN (V.P.), Mr. Man-Ho SONG (V.P.), Mr. Young-Pyo
HONG (V.P.), Mr. Seong-Ki KIM (Secretary), Mr.
Yang-Oh KIM (Treasurer), Mr. Kyung-Han SOHN (Chairman
of the Program Committee ).
EXCO Working Committee Member for
Q.173
Mr. Jong-Yoon KIM was nominated as a Working
Committee Member for Q.173 - "Issues of Co-existence
of Trademarks and Domain Names." He will
represent the Korean National Group of the AIPPI
as a working committee member for the forthcoming
year.
Suggested Topics for the 3rd AIPPI
World FORUM.
For the 3rd AIPPI World Intellectual Property
FORUM, which will be held in COEX, Seoul from
October 10 to 12, 2003, topics were prepared and
reported to the Bureau of AIPPI. The topics were
suggested to the Bureau, based on the suggestions
of the Program Committee, which was held in June
21 in Lisbon. The suggestions from the Secretary
General and the suggestions from the Korean National
Group of the AIPPI were also included in the list
of the suggested topics. The forum topics for
the four sessions suggested are as follows.

The Secretary General of the AIPPI
will visit Seoul from March 14th & 15th, 2003.
The General Secretary of the AIPPI, Mr. Vincenzo
M. Pedrazzini is scheduled to visit Seoul from
March 14 to 15, 2003. In furtherance to the submission
of the draft budget for the 2003 EXCO/FORUM and
the submission of the suggested topics of the
2003 FORUM to the AIPPI Bureau, Mr. Pedrazzini
proposed to visit Seoul and have a meeting with
the members of the Organizing Committee for the
2003 AIPPI EXCO/FROUM.At the meeting, Mr. Pedrazzini
and the members of the Organizing Committee will
discuss about such issues as the forthcoming 2003
AIPPI EXCO/FROUM and the preparations for the
two meetings. The local PCO will also participate
at the meeting.
The brochure of the 2003 AIPPI EXCO/FORUM.
With the distribution of the first Announcement
of the 2003 AIPPI EXCO/FORUM in last November,
new brochures are being prepared to be issued
in the near future. For the new brochures, programs
and schedules of the 2003 AIPPI EXCO and 2003
AIPPI FORUM will be introduced in two separate
pamphlets and more concrete and in-depth information
on two meeting will be presented.
