The Industrial Sector Meeting will be divided by three groups:
1) Automotive, shipbuilding and aerospace
2) Healthcare and chemical industries
3) IT and E-Commerce

The meeting will be followed by a tour of a KIA automobile factory in Hwasung and a Samsung Electronics factory in Suwon in the afternoon.

2. AIPPI EXCO Meeting in Lisbon on June 16 - 21, 2002

The 2002 AIPPI Executive Committee Meeting was held at the Ritz Four Seasons in Lisbon, Portugal on June 16 - 21, 2002. Around 350 delegates from 48 countries attended the meeting. The Korean group of eight members was headed by Mr. Yoon-bae Kim, president of AIPPI-Korea. At the meeting, delegates from each country discussed the following:

1) Current standards for prior art disclosure in assessing novelty and inventive step requirements
2) Use of a mark "as a mark" as a legal requirement in respect of acquisition, maintenance and infringement of rights
3) Criminal law sanctions with regard to the infringement of intellectual property rights

During the plenary session, Paris was selected as the location for the 42nd Congress of
AIPPI, 2010. The 43rd Congress of AIPPI will possibly be held in Seoul in 2012.

3. Officers and Members of AIPPI 2003 EXCO/ FORUM Organizing Committee Members
Joint Meeting on August 30, 2002

The Officers of AIPPI Korea and Members of AIPPI 2003 Exco/ Forum Organizing Committee Members Joint Meeting was held in Hanmaru Village, on the outskirts of Seoul, on the evening of August 30, 2002. Attendees discussed the following:

1) 2003 Exco/ Forum
2) 2002 AIPPI Japan, China and Korea Joint Meeting
3) 2002 Seoul Intellectual Property and Licensing International Conference
4) Financial situations of AIPPI-Korea
5) Operation of Secretariat and other related issues.

The meeting adjourned nearly approaching midnight. Members present at the meeting were the president, vice presidents, secretary, treasurer and organizing committee members, Mr. Il-woo Kang, Mr. Sung-ki Kim, Mr. Sung-tak Kim, Mr. Yoon-bae Kim, Mr. Jang-won Park, Mr. Duk-ryul Baek, Mr. Won Sohn, Mr. Jae-ryun Song, Mr. Kwan-ho Shin, Mr. Young-pil Lee, Ms. Won-hee Lee and Mr. Young-pyo Hong.

4. The Third Joint Meeting with AIPPI Big Three in the Asian Region

The Third Joint Meeting with AIPPI Big Three in the Asian Region will be held on October 10-12, 2002 at the Westin Chosun Hotel, Seoul, Korea. The meeting is being co-hosted by AIPPI Japan, China and Korea.
